Beside noodles and pasta, one of our favourite food is this small snack called bakwan jagung or corn fritters. It is quite simple to make and a good quick fix if you are running out time and got some hangry kids to feed 🙂
Bakwan Jagung/ Corn Fritters
2 sweet corncobs, remove the seeds
100 gram of prawn , remove shell, diced
1/2 cup of carrot, julienned
1 green onion, sliced thinly
1 clove of garlic, diced finely
1 shallots , diced finely
6 tablespoon of all purpose flour
1 tablespoon of rice flour (this will make it crunchy)
salt & pepper
1/2 teaspoon chicken powder (optional)
A bit of water
Mixed all the ingredients until it formed thick paste consistency.
Heat up cooking oil in a wok (medium to high heat).
Spoon the mixture using tablespoon.
Fried until it is cooked.
Serve with chillies or kecap manis with added chopped chillies.
